 Abubaker Kaki became today Sunday February 14, 2010 the first man since the Kenyan great Paul Ereng (the 1989 and 1991 world champion) to successfully retain this 800m title after producing a totally dominant front-running display.

Kaki faced a strong challenge to defend the crown he won in Valencia becoming the youngest ever winner of a world indoor title; once again Kaki demonstrated his prodigious talent to land gold in 1:46.23.
Boaz Lalang, 21, of Kenyan won the silver medal in 1:46.39 with Poland’s Adam Kszczot, 20, earned in 1:46.69 for bronze. His compatriot Ismail (1:45.99) the 800m Olympic Silver medalist became 4th.
Abubaker Kaki is coached by one of the best coaches in the middles distance in the world Jama Aden. Aden is presently the Head coach of Qatar National Team.
